British food for your event
We would love to cater your next party or event, whether it be a birthday do, a Doctor Who fan-meet or any kind of gathering where people appreciate good, delicious food.
Shad’s Live Pan-Fried Breakfast
Shad will personally appear in his Full English mod-style t-shirt and pan-fry sausages, eggs and bacon before your very eyes. Tomatoes, mushrooms and fried bread will also miraculously appear, and your entire group will then be “set up for the day” as we say in England (meaning: no need to get that Double Terminator McSandwich this lunchtime!). Although the Full English breakfast is not just for breakfast; it also makes a great brunch, lunch or even dinnerunch (? maybe not). And we would love to see it at a wedding one of these days- just what your over-tired guests deserve after lining up for all those photographs! Very good with mugs of Tetleys or PG Tips “builder’s” tea with milk.
Alice’s Wonderful High Tea
Perhaps somewhat more suited to the wedding environment, Alice’s High Tea is a spectacle of old-fashioned Englishness combining the West Country “cream tea” (scones with jam and cream) and the afternoon tea (sandwiches, cakes and sweets), plus of course pots of tea. Served on tiered plate stands, our High Tea is pretty but less teeny-weeny than some posh teas, with an emphasis on traditional English charm rather than modern pyrotechnical cakery. You can choose from lots of different sweets, with Alice’s advice about which things go well together, or we can create a seasonally-influenced or theme-related menu for you. But whether you are throwing a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, a royal wedding or any event that women and children might attend, you can’t go wrong with fairy cakes and white Champagne truffles!
What else can we do for you?
Pretty much anything on our menus can be brought to your home or space quite easily. We prefer to deal with orders on an individual basis because people’s needs vary and we are a small business so we can be very creative and make something special for you. If there is anything British that you love, please ask us about it. Alice spent three decades as a keen amateur food nerd making British food in Britain (being British) and she probably knows how it’s done!
